LEARNING SERIES: Cyber Safety and Human Trafficking Awareness

June 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

We are excited to announce our upcoming in-person Learning Series – Cyber Safety and Human Trafficking Awareness, hosted by Crime Stoppers. This informative session will feature Guest Speaker Sarah Bowers-Peters from Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington, who will guide parents/caregivers through essential best practices for engaging safely online.

The presentation will not only address the critical, current topic but will also delve into the prevention of identity theft and fraud, highlighting the importance of safeguarding personal information in our digital age. Additionally, we will discuss the pervasive issue of cyber bullying, exploring its severe consequences and the steps individuals can take to mitigate its impact.

Through this session, we aim to establish a vital connection between internet usage and various crimes, including sex trafficking. By raising awareness and providing practical strategies, we hope to empower parents/caregivers to navigate the online world more safely and responsibly.

Join us, in-person, at Shelburne Public Library, for this important discussion as we work together to combat these pressing issues in our own communities.
