FASD Social Skills Group
October 19 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
FreeThe social world is a big, complicated place! The goal of the Social Skills Group is to build social competencies including all the thinking and interpretation that happens in our brains before we exhibit a behaviour, rather than changing the behaviour itself.
Social-emotional learning is the foundation of how we share space with others, interact with others through play/ “hanging out”, when working in groups, and following storylines.
The Social Skills Group through DCAFS is offered to children 9 to 11 years of age who have diagnosed or possible Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and reside in Dufferin, Wellington or Guelph. There will be approximately 6 children in attendance at the group.
The group will be facilitated by Pamela Brown, ECE. R.T., Psychometrist and Co-Founder of Spinnaker Psychological Services, with support from an FASD Coordinator.
