FASD Cooking, Connection & Confidence: A Teen Experience

This interactive cooking experience is designed specifically for teens with possible or diagnosed Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and who reside in Dufferin Wellington or Guelph. Led by a local chef, Claire Bell from Woolen Mill Kitchen, participants will engage in a fun, hands-on cooking activity that builds confidence, creativity, and practical kitchen skills.
Together, teens will focus on preparing a simple meal, following a recipe and enjoying the meal together, gaining confidence while working together to build skills, and a delicious lunch!
A key part of this activity will be a guided, informal discussion where participants can connect with peers who share similar experiences.
This gathering aims to:
- Create a positive, inclusive space just for youth
- Build confidence and independence through cooking
- Encourage peer connection and reduce feelings of isolation
This event offers youth a chance to have fun, feel understood, and build meaningful connections, while enjoying good food and good company.
