SUMMARY:FASD Social Skills Group
DESCRIPTION:The social world is a big\, complicated place! The goal of the Social Skills Group is to build social competencies including all the thinking and interpretation that happens in our brains before we exhibit a behaviour\, rather than changing the behaviour itself. \nSocial-emotional learning is the foundation of how we share space with others\, interact with others through play/ “hanging out”\, when working in groups\, and following storylines. \nThe Social Skills Group through DCAFS is offered to children 9 to 11 years of age who have diagnosed or possible Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)\, and reside in Dufferin\, Wellington or Guelph. There will be approximately 6 children in attendance at the group. \nThe group will be facilitated by Pamela Brown\, ECE.
