How to Become a Volunteer

All volunteers complete an application and personal information form. We also require a vulnerable sector check, an internal child protection record check and two to three references. For volunteer driving, we require a recent driver’s abstract, a copy of insurance ensuring $1,000,000 coverage, valid drivers licence and a reliable vehicle. The application process includes a personal interview with the Coordinator Volunteers and Community Awareness.

DCAFS is an inclusive organization and welcomes everyone to apply for volunteer opportunities.  If you require specific assistance during the application process in accordance with the AODA, please feel welcome to contact Jacqueline Moore, Coordinator Volunteers  and Community Awareness by calling 519-941-1530. ext 246.
